For the serious pet lover, Fuzzy Nation has handbags
and accessories that are all about the pooch. In 2005,
Lafayette resident Jennifer Liu, 45, quit her job as
an assistant vice president of marketing for L’Oréal
to launch a chandelier business. Her plans promptly changed
when, at one business meeting, everyone was more interested
in the handmade purse she was carrying. “I realized
I had to make more of these bags,” Liu says. The
first of her three lines, Fuzzy Nation, consists of playful
purses made with high-end fabrics. The Love On A Leash
collection uses faux fur, and the couture line is leather
or faux alligator. “We have dogs for all people,” Liu
says. The handbags are $59 to $159 at Macy’s and
Neiman Marcus stores. Check out fuzzynation.com to see
the full litter, or visit Fuzzy Nation at 59 Olde Lafayette
Village. —Judie Hurtado
