The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newark recently honored city leaders and supporters committed to making Newark a positive place for its youth at its annual gala, Building Our Children’s Future One Brick at a Time.

Spicy Fund-Raiser
The 8th Annual Somerset Hills Educational Foundation Chili Cook-Off hosted 700-plus cowpokes, served 22 lip-smackin’ recipes and raised more than $100,000. Proceeds will support technology and faculty grants. The event was hosted at the Upton Pyne estate on Bernards Mountain.

Film Fanatics
The Montclair International Film Festival celebrated the Academy Awards with their first fund-raiser at the Clubhouse, owned by Steven Plofker and Bobbi Brown, in Montclair.

Nearly 600 members and friends of the Montclair Art Museum attended the opening of “Warhol and Cars: American Icons,” which runs through June 19.
